The Most Most Expensive House in the United States is in L.A. and Has a Candy Room

With an asking price of $250 million, a 12-bedroom, 21-bathroom mansion in Los Angeles is officially the most expensive house for sale in America. And it was built “on spec.”

Developer Bruce Makowsky conceived of the property, which reportedly took more than 300 people over four years to build. That immense effort starts to make sense when you see the entirety of the 38,000 square feet of pure decadence, including a room dedicated to candy, a James Bond-themed movie theater, a four-lane bowling alley, and a massage room/spa. Plus, it comes with seven full-time staff members whose salaries are covered for two years.

Originally featured by the Hollywood Reporter, the house takes luxury to a new level. If it realizes anywhere close to its asking price, it would set a record (the current record was set in 2014 by a $147 million East Hampton property). Take a tour below.

Four tons of stainless steel were required to build it. There are three kitchens in the house, too.

It features a 22-foot screen, 57 speakers, and 16 subwoofers. The 4K projector is also loaded with 7,000 movies.

But if guests get sick of movies, there’s always bowling.

After all those activities and drinking, guests will need a restorative environment.

The spa room includes his-and-hers massage tables, and one of the seven staffers who comes with the house is a masseuse.

The 85-foot-long infinity pool is another nice place to relax.

While the house does come with a helicopter, it’s purely a piece of art.

The chopper was featured in the ’80s TV show Airwolf.  “It’s a “sculpture,” Makowsky told the LA Times of the inoperable aircraft.

Who needs to go out to a nightclub when your house has a VIP lounge of its own?

If it sells for even $100 million less than the asking price, the house will still set a record.
